A Unique Retreat Set in the Heart of The Staffs Moorlands

Set in the impressive landscape of Staffordshire Moorlands, surrounded by stunning views lies the Hideaway at Fairview.

Stretching across one level the Hideaway is easily accessible to anyone of any age. It is well equipped, having all necessary amenities for a short or long, relaxing stay.

A 10 minute walk will get you into the quaint village of Brown Edge or if you fancy going further afield a 15 minute drive will take you into the historic market town of Leek.

We welcome four legged furry friends at The Hideaway as we are a dog friendly establishment. We have plenty of space for them to run and burn off some steam, all in a secure and safe area.

The Hideaway

The lounge area has a comfortable 2 seater settee with a much needed footstool. A 32 inch flat screen TV with built in freeview and a relaxing space for 2 guests to sit & dine together. The large double bed is also tucked into this area for a comfortable night’s sleep or just lounging about.

Leading off the living area is the en suite bathroom that comprises a sink, toilet and a wonderful whirlpool shower. The kitchen is fully equipped. Kettle, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge are all available for guests to use making this an ideal space to prep food & drink.

Outside, guests will find an area for outdoor dining or to just sit and take in the surrounding views. Parking is also provided at The Hideaway, this is found as guests enter the security gates giving reassurance for vehicles once parked. We can also offer a secure area, undercover for items such as bikes etc.

Our family dog Ronnie is also on the grounds. He is well trained and is happy to socialise with other well behaved dogs so please feel free to bring along your furry friends. They are more than welcome. Pet essentials can also be found in The Hideaway, water bowls, spare towels, poo bags etc. If guests do bring their dogs, we have a secure field opposite The Hideaway for dogs to roam freely. All we ask is that any mess is cleaned up.

Upon arrival, guests will be provided with a welcome tray (dietary requirements will be catered for). We also provide tea, coffee and sugar for guests to use during their stay.

“We had a wonderful stay at The Hideway. It was for our first trip away from home with our newborn. Debra was a fantastic host. She left a generous and thoughtful welcome tray for us and she was very responsive answering any questions we had very quickly and proactively providing all info we needed. The Hideaway was well equipped and we would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.”

“What a cracking little place. Great for a couple and a dog. The place was very well furnished and immaculate. Deb had left us a ‘welcome pack’ and even put a Christmas tree up. It had everything we needed for a short stay (3 nights), the private secure garden was a great for the dog. The Hideaway is entirely on Debs property and had a designated parking space behind key code gates. It was very secure and private. Communication from Deb was great from minute one and she proved an excellent host throughout. Very friendly and attentive to requests and any issues – The WIFI booster wasn’t plugged in but got sorted and the forgotten corkscrew was added on return of shop. Sat Nav wont quite get you there, but we were pre warned by Deb and after a phone call she guided us in and was on the lane to meet us. Can’t really find fault. We would definitely recommend this to others or to stay there again ourselves.”

“Stayed for a long weekend for my wife’s birthday. We wanted somewhere out of the way and peaceful but close enough to the Peak District to go walking. The Hideaway was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely living area felt quite spacious considering it’s all in one room. Bathroom had a brilliant rainfall power shower that was a must after being out walking most of the day. The kitchen was more than adequate for all our needs included washer and dryer. The hostess was lovely and dropped us a few messages to check in and that we did not need anything. We had a lovely welcome hamper plus some free-range eggs and milk for breakfast. TV with Freeview and some board games we even had a surprise visit from their adorable pooch. Will definitely be staying again.”

“We had the pleasure of staying at the hideaway over Xmas and new year. Wow what a great find!

As me and my partner are keen hikers and walkers, we wanted to stay somewhere which was a close drive to the peak district so the location was absolutely spot on.

The hideaway is nestled above the village in Brown Edge, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Our host Debbie and Lee met us on the lane and showed us to our designated parking spot.

The place where we stayed is an annex building to where the hosts live, but still feels really private and cosy. The hideaway is really clean, modern and really comfortable. It has absolutely everything you need for your stay including full kitchen and bathroom with shower, there was even a welcome pack and a Christmas tree which was a nice touch. Debbie and Lee were great hosts and did not hesitate to tend to our every need, but also gave us the privacy we wanted. Would highly recommend The Hideaway to anyone and we will certainly be back over the summer months for another stay.”
